Limpet and Friable:
The hazardous friable asbestos is material which can be crumbled, pulverised, or reduced to powder by hand pressure. This may also include previously non-friable material which becomes broken or damaged by mechanical force. Some examples include:

• sprayed asbestos fire retardants
• thermal lagging, such as pipe insulation.

Bonded asbestos cement roof and wall removal:
When asbestos fibres are bonded to another material, such as a cement or resin binder-this is known as bonded asbestos. They can be found in flat (fibro) buildings, corrugated or compressed asbestos cement (AC) sheeting: water, drainage pipes, flute pipes and floor tiles.

Remediation:
The removal of pollution or contaminants from environmental media such as soil, groundwater, sediment, or surface water for the general protection of human health and the environment or from a brownfield site intended for redevelopment. It may include one or more of the following:

• enclosure
• encapsulation

Pipes, Boilers and Bitumen:
Asbestos in cement pipes used for fresh water supply, stormwater and sewerage systems. Large industrial boilers containing sprayed asbestos insulation beneath outer metal cladding and as insulation on associated duct work.

Smaller commercial boilers insulated with asbestos blocks or composite materials applied to the outer surface of the boiler and clad with calico or metal sheeting. There are various other asbestos products associated with boilers including seals, gaskets, fire rated board etc. Bitumen used as water proofing on rooftops and floors.

Re-Insulation:
The need for insulation is found in all main envelope constructions of a building: external walls/facades, roofs, floors and foundation.
